Our services in Leeds
The Viral Hepatitis Nurses team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals was established around 2002. At that time, the team consisted of two dedicated nurses working part time to provide a hospital based service working alongside Consultant Hepatologists delivering treat for Hepatitis C.
To meet the changing needs of the service and to engage with hard to reach patients in the local community outreach services were introduced.
The team operates outreach clinics in the Leeds, Dewsbury and Wakefield areas and in–reach clinics to the four HMPs in West Yorkshire in addition to the hospital-based service.
The nurses are committed to providing the best practice to optimize treatment outcomes for patients with the support of the Consultant Hepatologists.
